CLARENCE BROCKWAY, JR.,
was born January 30, 1941, in Decatur, Nebraska. He was the
youngest of six children born to Clarence and Anna Bell
(Austin) Brockway. He passed away on Wednesday, May 2, 2007,
at his home in Decatur, at the age of 66 years, after losing
a long battle with lung cancer.
Clarence was baptized in the RLDS Church
in Decatur. He was better known as Junior or June Bug until
he got older, then he answered to Brock. He attended school
in Decatur, graduating from Decatur High School. He then
went to Wyoming to work, where he moved around working on
various construction sites.
In 1963, he was drafted into the US Army.
He received training as a radio repairman at Fort Sill,
Oklahoma. He was stationed in several other locations
through out the US, attaining the rank of E5. He was
discharged in 1965.
On March 31, 1967, Clarence and Neta
Hightree Deckard were united in marriage at South Sioux
City, Nebraska. He soon adopted her three children: Gary,
LeAnna and James. Becky was born in December 1967. They
raised their family in Decatur. Brock worked for the Burt
County Department of Roads, and on the line at IBP, he was
plant manager when he retired from IBP. Brock then worked at
the Burt County Bridge as a toll taker and bookkeeper. He
also served on the Decatur Volunteer Fire Department and
Town Board
Brock loved all kinds of hunting and
fishing, camping with friends and family and genuinely loved
being out of doors. He looked forward to the first wrens and
hunting mushrooms.
He was preceded in death by his parents,
two sisters, Elsie Elliott and Darlene Rich and grandson,
Tony Brockway.
Survivors include his wife, Neta of Decatur; sons and
daughters-in-law: Gary and Liza Brockway of Lancaster,
Tennessee; James and Lisa Brockway of Sykes, Tennessee;
daughters and son-in-law: Leanna McKiddy of Leavenworth,
Kansas, Becky and Jerry French of Lincoln, Nebraska; fifteen
grandchildren: Alexander, Adeline, Tallulah, Dahlia, Jazmine,
Boe, Megan, Erick, Brendan, Jerrel, Dustin, Jessica, Hailey,
Brenna and Ashtyn; two great grandchildren: Nevaeh and
Jullian; sister: Bernice Hennig of Parker, Colorado;
brothers and sister-in-law: Ivan and Joann Brockway of
Motorhome, USA , Myron Brockway of Onaway, Michigan.

Saturday, May 5, 2007, 10:00 a.m. at the Church of Jesus
Christ Decatur Restoration Branch, Decatur, Nebraska.
