****************** Information taken from the May 2009 Alumni Booklet Spouse: Edward Maslonka Children: Daughter, Lisa Karen Maslonka and Son, Adam Thomas Maslonka Grandchildren: One granddaughter, Jessie Taylor, 10. I graduated in May of 1959. Went to Business School in Omaha for 3 months. I took a government civil service test and ended up in Washington D.C. working for the Navy. Later I moved to Denver, CO and worked for the Internal Revenue Service. Moved back home in 1962 and married Ed Maslonka in July of 1962. We lived in Omaha, NE. Ed painted cars for H. P. Smith and I went back to work for the Navy at Fort Omaha. In 1967 we bought an acreage in Fort Calhoun and in October we had our first child, Lisa Karen. Ed and I both continued working in Omaha. We got our first horse in Fort Calhoun. In March of 1970 we had a boy who was named Adam Thomas. In 1972 we bought a farm in Burt County between Decatur and Lyons. Ed went to work for the State of Nebraska Department of Roads, and I stayed home with the kids until 1977. We have farmed and raised cattle since then. I went back to work for the Soil Conservation Service in May of 1977. I still work for them only now it is called the Natural Resources Conservation Service. This May I will have worked for them 32 years. While the kids were growing up and home we had different horses and spent most summers going to horse shows. Lisa graduated in the first Lyons/Decatur Northeast Class in 1985, Adam graduated in 1988. We have one granddaughter, Jessie Taylor who is 10 years old. |
