JAMES LEROY. SPARKS,
was born June 22, 1939, in Rosalie, Nebraska to Edison
and Lillian (Jackson) Sparks. He passed away Thursday,
September 30, 2010, at his home in Decatur.
A graduate of Decatur High School,
James served in the US Army from March 1963 – February
25, 1965.
James was employed by Burt County
Public Power as a lineman. He also worked for the
Village of Decatur.
He was preceded in death by his
parents, Lillian and Edison Sparks and his sister, Linda
Greve.
Survivors include his daughter and
sons-in-law, Jennifer (Sparks) and Ted Hittle of Dectur;
grandchildren, Ashlea, Michael and Daniel Hittle;
stepchildren, Jeff York and family of Bellevue, Steve
York and family of Omaha, Kris (York) Kirk and family of
Plattsmouth, Brian York and family of Lincoln; nephew,
JJ Sparks of Decatur, many other nieces, nephews and
cousins; brother, Ronnie Sparks; sisters, Sylvia Melby
and Cindy McCulloch.
