Gary Wedgewood ObituaryIt is always difficult saying goodbye to someone we love and cherish. Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Gary Wedgewood (Stittville, New York), born in Decatur, Nebraska, who passed away at the age of 84, on April 8, 2023. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family. He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlotte Wedgewood (Y'Deen) and Roland Wedgewood; his sister Mary; his brother-in-law Harry Mowery; and his brothers, Jim Wedgewood and Wayne Wedgewood. He is survived by: his wife Sue Cassidy Winckler; his children, Lara Burns (Bill) and Scott Winckler; his sister Karen Seymour (Jerry); and his sister-in-law Marsha Wedgewood. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 1st 2023 at 1:00 PM at the Townsend Cemetery. Spouse: Sue Children: Lara, Scott Pets: Golden Retriever, Sneaker Sorry I can't be with you this year, but I have been elected Commander of our local American Legion Post and Memorial Day is a must for me. I have been retired for 10 years, but I am busier than ever. I spend lots of time in Boy Scout activities. I am a District Commissioner and Committee Chairman for our local troop. The best part is working with the boys. I teach Dutch Oven Cooking (boys all love to eat), and am an advisor to the Native American Dance Team. Our troop camps every month of the year including a week in the Adirondack Mountains each summer. I was also pleased to take the troop to the National Jamboree and lay a wreath at Arlington. The Legion keeps us busy ,too, with dinners, fish fries, and ball tournaments. We still find some time to haul our camper around and spend time with friends. If life ever seems to slow down there are plenty of community service projects to to. Oh yes, and there is the 4 acres of lawn to mow! We live way out in the country but life is never dull. Good friends and good neighbors makes for a good life. Updated 4/4/09 |
