Alta Hightree Cramer

Elkhorn-Alta Cramer, 83, of Elkhorn died Sunday July 1, 2001, at Methodist Hospital in Omaha.

Alta Hightree was born Feb. 25, 1918, in Walthill. She grew up in Decatur, attending grade school there and graduating from Decatur High School in 1936. She married Lewis Cramer Feb. 19, 1937, in Blair. They lived in Omaha. She worked at J.C. Penney in Omaha, retiring after 30 years. Her spouse died in January 1995 and she remained in Elkhorn.

Survivors include: three daughters, Judith (Mrs. Louis) Bruno of Omaha, Carmen (Mrs. John) Housley and Joan (Mrs. Gary) Johnson, all of Elkhorn; a sister, Marge (Mrs. Louis) Ball of Elkhorn, nine grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral is 10 a.m. Thursday at Bethany Lutheran Church in Elkhorn. The Rev. Mary Fry will officiate. Visitation is noon to 8 tonight at Reichmuth Funeral Home in Elkhorn with family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. Burial will be in West Lawn Memorial Park in Elkhorn,
