Grandchildren:  Christopher William Zerbest, Heath Myers, Breannah Marie Myers.  Great-Grandchild:  Zoey Marie Zerbest

Even though Betty passed away only ten years after her high school graduation, she had several accomplishments in her short life.  Betty married Alfred "Red" W. Zerbest and they had three daughters,  Cyndy Lea, Sherry Lynn, and Jennifer Marie.  Red was a career airman in the United States Air Force; consequently the family moved and resided in several different states, Texas, New York, South Dakota and Nebraska.  On two separate occasions, Red was deployed overseas for a year at a time.  Betty and the girls would return to Nebraska to be near family and friends and such was the case in 1971, when they lived at rural Decatur.  Betty was a homemaker and enjoyed the holidays ad family gatherings.  She chose to host the Thanksgiving dinner for her parents and her siblings that fall.  In January of 1972, the Zerbest family moved to Ellsworth Air Force Base in Rapid City, South Dakota and on May 1, 1972 Betty passed away.  She is buried at Decatur Hillcrest Cemetery.  Later that year her family relocated to Eaker AFB at Blytheville, Arkansas to be nearer the Zerbest family.  Red died in 1989.  Two of Betty's daughters, Cyndy and Jennifer (married to Randy Myers) live in Arkansas and Sherry lives in Florida.  Betty has three grandchildren, Christopher, Heath and Breannah and one great-granddaughter, Zoey
