June 4, 1927 - January 9, 1984 Funeral services were held for Bill Blankenbeckler, 56, a former resident of Decatur, Thursday, January 12, at the Methodist Church in Wahoo. He passed away Monday, January 9, 1984 in Lincoln. Rev. Armin Vogt officiated. Bil J. Blankenbeckler was born June 4, 1927, in Craig and later moved to Decatur where he graduated from Decatur High School in 1944. He was a member of the united Methodist Church in Wahoo and the Veterans of Foreign Wars and served in the U.S. Army in 1951 and 1952. On August 14, 1955, he married Joan Schriver in Fremont and the couple had two children; a son, Ronald of Wahoo; and a daughter, Mrs. Jerry (Cheryl) Warren of Lincoln. Bill was a self-employed trucker. Survivors include his wife; children; sister, Ida J. Marr of Decatur; and one grandchild.
