After graduation I joined the Marines.  I played football for the Corps in Balboa Stadium (now Jack Murphy) in San Diego.

Louella and I were married in March of 1949.  After I was discharged in 1950, we came back to Iowa.  I was a Ford, Lincoln, Mercury Mechanic in Red Oak.

 In 1962 we moved to Denver, Colorado,  where I was with the police department for a little over 25 years.  After I retired in 1987, we moved back to Iowa to a small farm on the Iowa River near Union.

 We enjoy the timber, birds and wildlife abounding here.  We return quite often each year to Denver to be with our kids and grand kids.
