July 13, 1955 - August 6, 1979

Services were held Thursday, August 9, at the United Methodist Church in Decatur for Boyd A. Newton, 24.  Newton died August 6, in Lead, SD, from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.

Rev. Ralph Ford officiated at the rites.  Music was provided by Mrs. Lewis Beard, organist.

Pallbearers were Tim Sears, Phillip Hennig, Joe Penny, Gary McGuire, Donald Warren and Lynn Kellogg.

Interment was at Hillcrest Cemetery in Decatur.

Boyd Alvin Newton was born to Alvin Leroy Newton and Helen Opal Newton on July 13, 1955 at Oakland.

He attended Decatur Public Schools, graduating in 1973.

Boyd was preceded in death by a brother, Carl Michael.

He is survived by his parents; brothers, Donald Lee and Craig Stephen; his sisters, Catherine Lynn Newton, Carolyn Sue Boris, Phyllis Anne Mitchell and Jacqueline Rae Uehling; grandmother, Grace Phelps; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and many friends.
