(Information taken from 25th Alumni Booklet May 1993. Please send an e-mail to update information at any time.) Occupation: Assistant Controller Special People: Tom Miller & sons, Jason and Derrick I married in 1980, lived in Chicago and was co-owner of an audio/visual staging company which built sets, arranged talent, and staged tours. I traveled extensively and met a lot of actors and entertainers. We also owned 2 thoroughbreds. In 1986 my adventure came to an end and my "Prince Charming" turned into a toad. So I sold my share and moved to California. I settled in San Dimas and I'm 30 minutes from the beach, 25 minutes from Disneyland, 30 minutes from terrific ski runs and only 5 hours from Las Vegas. I work for a large cable company in Pasadena in their financial headquarters as an assistant to the controller. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ August 3, 1950 - March 15, 2006 A memorial service for Carol Anne (Schroder) Miller will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 8, 2006, at Rush's Funeral Chapel in Onawa, Iowa, with Rev. Chuck Layton officiating. Carol Anne Miller passed away peacefully at her home March 15, 2006, in San Dimas, CA at the age of 55. Carol Ann was born in Oakland, NE, August 3, 1950, to Dwight and Anne (Hyden) Schroder of Decatur, NE. She was raised in Decatur and attended country school not far from the family farm before transferring to Decatur School, graduating in 1968. Burial will be at the Hillcrest Cemetery in Decatur, NE. Honorary bearers are nephews, Aaron Schroder and Chad Helstand. Musical selections are An Angel on My Shoulder, Miles To Go (before I sleep), My Heart Will Go on, and Amazing Grace. As a child, Carol would participate in competition dancing and was chosen to try out for the Ted Mack Talent Show, but illness kept her from going to New York. She was hospitalized at the Mayo Clinic for scoliosis of the spine. She spent nine months at the Mayo Clinic and was bedfast at home in a body cast for a year. Being bedfast did not hamper her in any way. She was able to keep up on her studies, and after graduating from high school, she attended Dana College in Blair, NE. Carol was not afraid of adventure and lived in several states before settling in San Diman, CA. There she met Tom Miller of Walnut, CA and they were married in 1998. She helped Tom raise his two boys, Jason and Derrick. Being an avid Star Wars fan, she named the little fluffy dog she was given her "Wookie". She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents. Her little dog, "Wookie", died three days before her own death. Survivors include her husband; stepsons, Jason Miller of San Dimas, CA and Derrick (Yolanda) Miller of Walnut, CA; grandchildren; nephews; Aaron (April) Schroder of Brooklyn, NY and Chad (Colleen) Helstand of Dunlap, IA; niece, Stacie Harmon of Cincinnati, OH, and many friends, including her special friends from her Thomasville days in Omaha, NE.
