(Information taken from 50h Alumni Banquet Booklet May 2005. You may send updated information to webmaster at any time) Spouse: Loren (Sonny) Children: 4 Jean, Jo, Debra and Larry Grandchildren: 4 Tyler, Lindsay, Samuel and Duane Since graduating in 1955, I attended one year at Dana College and two summers at Wayne State, and taught country schools around Decatur for four years before marrying in 1960 and moving to South Sioux. I have had many part time jobs--sitting with patients in hospitals and their homes, election board, office work, ironing and selling Avon products, besides working as a church secretary for 28 years. With four children, I tried to work while they were in school. Sonny worked as a glazier in Sioux City and South Sioux ships for about 30 years. We both have been involved in all activities at church as well as coaching baseball, softball and basketball. I've headed up our music department at church for years and direct choir and organized a country/Gospel service for which we play once a month. We've also run a country jam session at the local Senior Center every Friday night for about 20 years now and entertain at many nursing homes. We've really had a fun time with our country band, though; playing for dances and parties in about a 100 mile radius. It's been a learning experience, since we do a lot of different types of music. Our Granddaughter has sung with us and one Grandson, Sam, is a good drummer and has played with us. We're also lucky to have a very talented friend who helped us produce 3 CD's so our Grandchildren will be able to show their kids what our music was like. Son, Larry, thinks it's neat to be the only guy around whose folks have a CD out! Iit's a busy life--but it's been GREAT!
