John Edward (Eddie) Connealy (deceased)
February 16, 1961 - December 22, 2004 Funeral Services were December 27 at the Evangelical Free Church in Oakland for John Edward Connealy, 43. He was killed in a motor vehicle accident December 22, 2004, near Creston. Rev. Ronald Gunsolley officiated the rite. Pianist was Charlene Mehnke and vocalist was Dale Donnelly. Eddie was born February 16, 1961, the youngest of seven children born to Emmet and Marge (Sudbek) Connealy, and grew up on the family farm southwest of Decatur. He attended Elm Creek country school and graduated from Decatur High School in 1979, then continued his education for two years at Northeast Community College in Norfolk. He worked as an independent building contractor in the Norfolk area. He said his greatest job and joy was raising his two daughters, Kenra, 16 , and Hannah, 10. November 23, 2002, he married Ann Eckholt and they lived near Pilger Connealy was Sunday school superintendent of the Victory Road Evangelical Free Church of Norfolk. He also served as president of the Stanton County Extension service and worked with many youth in the county 4-H program. He was preceded in death by his father. Survivors include his wife and daughters of Pilger; mother of Decatur; brother and sister -in-law, Dave and L. J., also of Decatur; and sisters and brother-in-law, Jeanine and Jay Reischl of Omaha; Jane Connealy and Mary Lynn Connealy, both of Blair, Debbie Penny of Tekamah and Peggy Connealy of Wayne. Burial was in the Hillcrest Cemetery near Decatur. Casket bearers were Steve Englehart, Jerry Dunning, Pat Sears, Jeremy Aspen, Marshall Connealy and Jonathan Connealy. Honorary bearers were Solomen Connealy, Colt Penny, Colin Huerter and Dylan Huerter. Memorials may be directed to Ann Connealy and will be used for Connealy's daughters' education.
