I was married in Independence, Mo in the chapel of the church that Harry and Bess Truman attended. My only claim to fame! I worked as a bookkeeper and payroll supervisor, took early retirement in 1984 and have had a ball the past ten years. We live by the Golden Rule of Retirement--"Always put off until Tomorrow what you Could or Should have Done Today". ``````````````````` September 25 , 1926 - Mary 4, 1996 Edith Mary Redding Tondle died Mar 4, 1996. Funeral services were held in Omaha May 8. She was born September 25, 1926, on a farm southwest of Decatur to Glen E. and Lydia Knapp Redding. She graduated from Decatur High School in 1944 and attended the University of Nebraska-Omaha. She taught one term at McCauley School in Thurston County and returned to Omaha and worked as a bookkeeper. In 1950 she married Robert A. Tondle. She retired from Jerry Leonard Men's attire store in 1984. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Lawrence Redding; and sister, Lois Neighbors. She is survived by her husband; sisters, Esther Redding and Opal Neighbors, both of Council Bluffs, IA, Alice Harvey, Dade City, FL; Doris Ueding, Onawa, IA; brothers, Merle "Mike" Redding, Knoxville, IA; Lyle "Charlie" Redding, Decatur; Larry Redding, Warrenton, Mo; and many nieces and nephews. ,
