July 2, 1929 - June 20, 1987

Services were held Wednesday in Hawthorne, CA, for former Decatur resident, George A. (Tony) Lewis of Hawthorne.  He died June 20, 1987 at the age of 57.

Lewis was born July 2, 1929, in Cedar County, NE, to Richard and Pearl (Jones) Lewis.  He lived in Decatur for many years and was a Decatur High School graduate.  He married Joyce Wedgewood of Tekamah.

Preceding him in death were his father; brothers, William and John; and sisters, Gertrude and Alice.

Survivors include his wife; four sons, Michael, Patrick, Gregory and Gerald; and a daughter, Debra, all of California; two brothers, Harold of California and Tom of Colorado; four sisters, Teresa of Wisconsin, Evelyn of California, Dorothy of South Sioux City and Leona of Oakland; and 11 grandchildren.

His mother, Pearl Lewis of South Sioux City, died this week.  Burial was Thursday at Holy Cemetery in Culver City, California.
