June 8, 1935 - November 9, 1998 Golda Mae Meyer, 63, died November 9, 1998, at her home in Hastings. Services will be 2 p.m.. Thursday, November 12, at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, Hastings, with Rev. John L. Ross officiating. Burial will follow at Parkview Cemetery, Hastings. She was born June 8, 1935, in Decatur to Leo and Golda (Jarman) Stafford. She graduated from Decatur High School and attended Wayne State College. She then taught in rural Decatur schools. August 8, 1954, she married Merlin "Benny" Meyer. She continued teaching in the rural Wayne area. In 1971 they moved to Hastings and in 1972 she began working as a staff and care staff member of Perkins Pavilion, retiring in 1997. She was a member of Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd. Her parents, brother Rodney and three brothers preceded her in death. Survivors include her husband of Hastings; son and daughter-in-law, Craig Alan and Jacqueline Meyer of Winchester, KY: daughter and son-in-law, Terra and Sonny Myers of Carmel, CA; sisters, Rose Ann Hayes of David City and Elaine Mitchell of Macy; and mother-in-law, Gertrude Meyer of York. Butler-Volland Funeral Home, Hastings, is in charge of arrangements.
