Grace C. Williams Harris Obituary SIOUX CITY -- Grace C. Harris, 87, of Sioux City passed away Saturday, Oct. 29, 2011, at Sunrise Retirement Community in Sioux City. Services will be 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Homes, with the Rev. Robert Smith officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Grace was born July 19, 1924 at Decatur, Neb., the daughter of Fred and Cordie (Morrow) Williams. She grew up in Decatur, graduating from Decatur High School. Grace married Neal Harris on April 27, 1944, in California. Together they made their home in Sioux City. Grace worked for Wincharger for a short time before going to work for JC Penney. She retired as a supervisor from JC Penney after over 29 years of employment. Grace's family always came first. She was kind, loving and had a wonderful sense of humor. Grace enjoyed sewing and making crafts. Survivors include her husband, Neal Harris of Sioux City; two daughters, Sherry Dean of Sioux City and Vickie Lynn and Jim Moore of St. Paul, Minn.; grandson, Rick Moore and wife, Laurie Kauffman of Chicago, Ill.; granddaughter, Melissa and Jon Barnett of Lincoln, Neb.; and a great-grandson, Josh Bennett of Lincoln, Neb. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Elwin and Paul; and a sister, Lucille Mason. After graduation I came to Sioux City. I and Neal were married in 1944. I worked for J.C. Penny for 29 years and am now retired and enjoying every minute of it.
