November 26, 1933  -  September 17, 1999

The Rev. Harun Gatobu officiated a memorial service September 21 at United Methodist Church in Decatur for Harriet A. Larson.  She died September 17, 1999, at the Onawa, Iowa, hospital at the age of 65.

She was born November 26, 1933, in Tekamah, the daughter of Hans Christian and Rachel (Hanson) Larson.  She graduated from Decatur High School in 1951.

She attended Colorado Women's College for two years and later graduated from Dana College with a bachelor of science in elementary education.  She taught in the Midwest and Casper, WY., District 66 in Omaha and the Cherokee Public School system where she taught for 29 years. retiring in May of 1991.

Miss Larson was a member of Decatur United Methodist Church, Burgess Memorial Foundation Board, Order of the Eastern Star and Wa-Ton-E Club in Cherokee and did  volunteer work for the Cancer Society.

During her spare time, she traveled.

Her parents preceded her in death.

Surviving are two brothers and sister-in-law, Donald of Lincoln and Richard and Delores of Decatur; five nieces; and two grandnephews and five grandnieces.
