Hugh Connealy (Deceased)
Hugh M. Connealy, 82, died January 19, 2002, at Oakland Memorial Hospital. Services were January 22 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Decatur with the Rev. Martin Pl Conley officiating. Dot Connealy was organist. He was born June 10, 1919 in Decatur to George P. and Minnie O. (Conway) Connealy. He graduated from Decatur High School in 1939. Connealy served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was honorably discharged in 1946. He was the founder of Gardena Rubber Company in Southern California and a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Decatur. His parents, three brothers and two sisters preceded him in death. Survivors include a son, Patrick H. Connealy of Apple Valley, CA; sister, Frances Gregson of Decatur; two grandchildren, Brian and Debbie; great-grandson, Mitchell; and good friends, Fate Saint of San Juan Capistrano, CA, and John Siemonsma and Phyllis Greene, both of Decatur. Military graveside rites were conducted at Holy Family Country Cemetery near Decatur by VFW Gleason-Rogers Post No 6926 and American Legion Rogers-Crum Post No 215. Casket bearers were Fate Saint, John Siemonsma, Rex Stillman, Jim Webster, Charles Krutilek and Norman Campbell. Honorary bearers were Harold Sears, Emmett Connealy, Don Dillon, Brian Connealy, Debbie Connealy, John Maryott and Kurtz Sears. |
