March 18, 1933 to July 1, 2013

      Jean Marie McAllister, 80, passed away on July 1, 2013 at her daughter’s home in Rogersville, Mo.  She spent the greater part of her adult life in Branson.  She was born on March 18, 1933 in Decatur, NE to Kenneth & Luella Ball Beck.

      Jean grew up in Decatur NE and graduated from Decatur High School in 1951.  After high school she attended Wayne State College where she received her teaching certificate. Jean married Donald Eugene McAllister in 1952 in Decatur NE.  They made their home in Branson, Mo. where they raised their three children: Mike, Gary and daughter Brenda.  They were happily married for over 50 years until Don’s death in 2003.  Jean completed her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education at School of the Ozarks at Point Lookout, Mo.  Jean taught 4^th grade at Branson Elementary for 25 years.  She had many interests including reading, PEO, investment club, Bible Study Fellowship and her church.  Her greatest joy was spending time with her children, their families, and her brother Clark.

     Jean is survived by her brother Clark Beck of Decatur NE; her son Mike and his wife Lyndell McAllister of Longview, TX; her son Gary McAllister of Blue Eye, Mo.; her daughter Brenda and husband Kraig Reuter of Rogersville, Mo.; her grandchildren; Jared and Andrea McAllister; Kyle, Matthew and Kayla Reuter, and several nieces and nephews.

     Visitation will be at Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home on E. Hiway 76, Branson, Friday, July 5^th from 6-7 P.M.  The memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church in Hollister, Saturday, July 6, 10:30 A.M. Pastor Wilburn Griswold and Pastor Randy Swearengin will officiate.  Burial will follow at the Ozarks Memorial Park Cemetery, Branson.  In memory of Jean, memorials to First Baptist Church of Hollister, 136 Hillbilly Lane, Hollister, Mo. 65672.
