JIMMY DALE HUFFMAN was born to
Dale R. “Jim” and Sylvia (Moore) Huffman March 28, 1941, at his
grandparents' home in Walthill, Nebraska. He passed away Saturday,
March 20, 2010, at his home in Decatur, Nebraska, after a sudden
illness at the age of 68 years.
He grew up on the family farm north of Decatur. He attended Decatur
Public School and graduated with the class of 1958.
He married Janice (Maryott) Titus December 28, 1962, in Winner,
South Dakota. They made their first home in Springview, Nebraska,
along with stepson, Bill Titus. To this union two children were
born: Dale David and Janese Laree. Jim was a heavy equipment
operator and worked in the construction of Interstate 80, living in
several towns in central and western Nebraska. In 1967 they moved to
Decatur, where they have resided until the present.
Jim's life was spent in farming, truck driving and highway
construction. He learned to drive a tractor at the age of 8 and
helped his dad and various farmers through the years. After working
15 years in Omaha, he became Burt County Road Foreman in 1981. He
retired in 2006. He served one term on the Decatur Village Board. He
was a gardener and was noted for sharing much of it in the
community. Jim attended Light of the World Gospel Ministries in
Decatur.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Marilyn Kellogg.
Survivors include his wife, Janice; son, Dale (Sherri) Huffman of
Decatur; daughter, Janese (Josh) Nelsen of Grimes, IA; stepson, Bill
Titus of Bellevue, WA; sisters, Peggy (Connie) Jump, Pam (Pat) Bacon
of Decatur; brothers, Jerry (Sharon) Huffman, Gary (Kathy) Huffman,
Jack (Kaye) Huffman all of Decatur; six grandchildren, Andrea (Tom)
Josephsen, Holli and Jennifer Huffman, Josh and Justin Osborn, Brady
Nelsen; great granddaughter, Maizielyn Josephsen.

of Decatur, Nebraska passed away Saturday, March 20, 2010, at
his residence in Decatur.
FUNERAL SERVICE: Wednesday,
March 24, 2010, 10:30 a.m., at the Decatur City Auditorium.
VISITATION: Tuesday, March
23, 2010, 1 - 8 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 4 -
8 p.m. and Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. all at Pelan Funeral Home
in Tekamah. Visitation Wednesday will be held at the auditorium
one hour prior to the service.
BURIAL: Hillcrest Cemetery,
Decatur.
