I am presently employed at Hungry's Bar in Decatur. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ October 28, 1949 - January 19, 1999 A memorial service for John Ridgeway, 49, was held January 23 at Piper Funeral Home in Lyons with Rev. Eugene H. Hinrichsen, pastor of the New Life Assembly of God, officiating. Jani Huffman sang "How Great Thou Art". Burial was at Hillcrest Cemetery in Decatur. Jim McCluskey was urn bearer. Members of VFW Post No 6926 and American Legion Post No. 215, both of Decatur, performed military graveside honors. John Bruce Ridgeway was born October 28, 1949, in Norfolk, VA, to Fred and Gladys (McCluskey) Ridgway. He died January 19, 1999, at Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk. He and his mother lived at his Grandpa Bruce's house in Decatur where he attended Decatur Public Schools, graduating in 1969. He was an avid Husker fan and enjoyed watching professional wrestling and listening to Beatles music. Ridgeway worked at the Green Lantern Steak House before enlisting in the United States Navy. He served as a navy cook from December 1970 to November 1972. He returned to Decatur and cooked at the Green Lantern and later at Hungry's. May 25, 1995, he moved to the Nebraska Veterans Home. His mother and grandfather both preceded him in death. He is survived by other reltives and many friends.
