                 Lewis Baker Obituary

OMAHA - A funeral service for Lewis N. Baker, 64, of Omaha, was held Saturday, Aug. 30, 2014, at St. Stephen the Martyr Catholic Church in Omaha with Father Jim Tiegs presiding.

Lewis Ned Baker was born May 22, 1950, to Mark and Naomi (Holmes) Garner. He was raised in Decatur and graduated from Decatur High School in 1968. After high school, he attended barber college in Illinois. He returned from Illinois and began a sales career in Omaha.

On Nov. 21, 1986, he was united in marriage to Beverly Maguire in Omaha. The couple made their home in Omaha. Lewis retired from his sales career in 2012. Lewie enjoyed music, football, playing golf and his yard work. He was always pleasant and a friend to many. Even during his battle with leukemia, Lewie always kept a positive attitude which resulted in countless friendships with the staff and doctors who treated him.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly of Omaha; son, Chad (Kiana) Baker of Omaha; daughter, Keri Baker of Omaha; daughter, Anna Baker of Omaha; grandchildren, Benjamin and Leo of Omaha; sister, Cheryl (Derald) Erickson of Arlington; sister, Beverly (Donald) Brase of Blair; brother, Randall (Susan) Baker of Ankeny, Iowa; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Ann (Ron) Kudron of Columbus, Mike (Mary) Maguire of Columbus, Mary (Mike) Egger of Omaha, Colleen (Wayne) Morris of Columbus, Debbie (Chris) Jaimeson of Phoenix, Arizona, Amy (Tim) Harrington of Columbus, Lori (John) Dickerson of San Diego, California, and Kelly (Jerry) Sinclair of El Cajon, California; and 48 nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Mark Baker; mother, Naomi Garner; stepfather, Gil Garner; brothers, Gary and Robert Baker; and nephew, Kenny Erickson.

     I worked at IBP after graduation until 1969.  I went to Barber College and barbered for 1 1/2 years in Illinois.  I moved to Omaha in 1970.  I worked in the Insurance Business for 11 years.  IN 1982 I worked in the car business for Dean Rawson Nissan & Bellevue Nissan.  We have been running our own used car business in Fremont since 1991
