Information taken from the 1991 Decatur Alumni Banquet booklet Occupation: Retired I was born September 7, 1924, at Decatur, NE. My parents were C.E. and Jessie Lyght. After graduation I went to Wayne State College for 1 year. Attended in summers above the college until 1963. Received a B.A. in Ed in 1963. received Library of Science Endorsement from Chadron State in 1967. My career has included 11 years in rural Burt County Schools and 30 years in Oakland Public Schools. Honors I have received include; Sigma Tau Delta, Kappa Delta Pi; Delta Kappa Gamma; Editor's Choice Awards for Poetry. The Poetry Center-Orinda, CA 1990; The National Library of Poetry-Owings Mills, Maryland, 1990; Nominated to the International Society of Poets 1991; Watermark Press-Owings Mills, Maryland 1991; Outstanding Secondary Educators 1974 & 75; Leaders of America in Secondary Education 1972.
