September 8, 1926 -February 18, 2021

Marian Saltzman died on February 19, 2021.  Marian was born September 8, 1926 at Bennington, NE, to Walter and Hazel (Miller) Ford.  

Prior to moving to Salina, Marian worked for several years at Mutual of Omaha in Omaha, NE.  She and then husband Robert Loren Saltzman owned and operated the City Café in North Bend, NE.  Upon moving to Salina, she became a homemaker until she and Robert bought and operated the Green Lantern Truck stop at the corner of I-70 and Ohio St. in Salina, KS. After retirement Marian worked part time as a file clerk for the Saline County Attorney’s Office.  She had been a member of Independent Order of Odd Fellows and Eastern Star.

Marian is preceded in death by her parents, son Gary Saltzman, sisters Florence Klinger, Luella McBride, Blanche Ford, Maxine Deckard, Dorothy Lampson, a brother Bud Ford, all in NE.  

She is survived by sons Robert Lee, Bobby Saltzman of Salina, Donald E., Donnie (Terri) Saltzman of Glen Elder, daughters, Carol J (Steve) Milleson of Falun, and Verna L. (Ron) Hulett of Smolan.  12 Grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren and her sister Virginia Huffman of Decatur, NE.  A special thank you to Shelly Hindman and family and to Jacque Backus.

Marian wished to be cremated.  Due to Covid-19 a service/celebration of life will be held at a later date.  

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent in care of the family to Ryan Mortuary
