Her loving husband also moved to remain close to her. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Hospice of the Foothills or a charity of your choosing. taken from the 1991 Decatur Alumni Banquet booklet Occupation: Retired Spouse: James Children: five After graduation I attended Wayne State Teachers College and taught one year at Ball Country School. I moved to San Rafael, CA with my family in 1943. I met Jim, my future husband. He was from Texas and in the Navy at the time. I worked as a bookkeeper at the Naval Supply Depot in Oakland until I was married. In April we celebrated our 46th wedding anniversary. I did not work while we were raising our children. We felt it was important to have a part in our children's many activities and their growing up. There was a lot of family "togetherness". Those were busy, happy days. We have 5 children. 3 boys and 2 girls and 13 grandchildren. Later I went back to College in order to teach nursery school. Those skills I acquired have been helpful to me as I still teach a Sunday School Class and work with children. Jim has been retired 14 years, but our involvement with our Church and its many activities has remained a vital part of our lives. We love our home. I enjoy gardening and am a member of the Garden Club and Flower Chairman at Church. We spend a lot of time at our Mountain home (not far from Reno, NV). Jim enjoys fishing and hunting. We look forward to the many occasions our family and friends can join us. With so many grandchildren, our time is very much in demand and we love it. We thank the Lord for the enrichment and blessings He has brought into our lives.
