1935-2016 Funeral services were held Friday, Nov. 18, 2016, at the Country Bible Church in rural Blair, Neb., for MaryLou Eva (Warren) Wedgewood, 81. She passed away Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2016, at Orchard Gardens Assisted Living in Valley, Neb., surrounded by her loved one, caregivers and staff at Orchard Gardens. MaryLou was born March 17, 1935, to George and Gertrude (Thomas) Warren in rural Decatur, Neb. She attended Elm Creek Country School growing up and graduated from Decatur High School. On February 8, 1952, she married the love of her life, Harold 'Wedge' Wedgewood at the First Baptist Church in Tekamah, Neb. Two children were born to this union, Kelly and Jay. MaryLou was a member of Country Bible Church in rural Blair, where she served in many capacities. Through the years, she worked as an operator at the telephone company in Tekamah, the ASCS office and bookkeeper/secretary for Tyson’s fertilizer plant. A devoted wife just doesn’t sound accurate; she loved Wedge with all of her heart and soul. They did everything together. She loved her Lord Jesus Christ, her kids, grandkids, great-grandkids and family. MaryLou loved fishing, games of canasta, gin rummy, Aggravation, video games with the grandkids and Nebraska football. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wedge; parents, George and Gertrude Warren; brothers, Lloyd Warren and Tom Warren; sister, Joan (Warren) Dorn; and grandson, Dylan Wedgewood. Survivors include her daughter, Kelly (Gregg) Kava of Valley; son, Jay (Susan) Wedgewood of Omaha, Neb.; three grandchildren, Jerad (Aubree) Kava of York, Neb., Lindi Kava of Fremont, Neb., Damon Wedgewood of Omaha; two great-grandchildren, Gavin and Anna Kava of York; brothers, Paul (Beverly) Warren of Blair and Raymond (Ann) Warren of Elkhorn, Neb.; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
