PAUL WILLIAM BREWER was born September 22, 1942, in Decatur, Nebraska, to Henry and Melva (Hightree) Brewer. He passed away on Saturday, December 22, 2012, at his home in Lyons, Nebraska, at the age of 70 years.
Paul grew up in Decatur and graduated from Decatur High School in 1960.

On April 6, 1963, Paul and Barbara Sue Slaughter were married in Rosalie, Nebraska.  To this union two children were born, Trisha and Michael.

Paul spent the majority of his adult life working in the insurance industry. In his spare time he enjoyed umpiring, coaching, hunting and fishing. He was involved in several civic organizations in Decatur. But truest to his heart were his grandchildren whom he adored.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Barbara; three brothers, Jerry, Lowell and Jon; father-in-law, Alton Slaughter; brother-in-law Gene Slaughter.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Patrick and Trisha Pack of Norfolk, NE, son and daughter-in-law,  Michael and Anna Brewer of Elkhorn, NE;  eight grandchildren,  Kourtnie, Brad, Judd, McKenna, P.J., Matt, Derek and Mia; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Terry, Lonnie  and  Connie, Clark and Rose, Ron and Michaela; two sisters and brother-in-law, Fanchon and Doyle Andersen, Janelle Britton; mother-in-law,  Melba Slaughter; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Roger and Pat Andersen, Lonnie and Carol Slaughter, Sharon Slaughter; many nieces and nephews.

FUNERAL SERVICE:  Thursday, December 27, 2012, 10:00 a.m. at the Memorial United Methodist Church in Lyons.

VISITATION: Wednesday, December 26, 2012, 4 – 8 p.m. with the family receiving friends at Pelan Funeral Home in Lyons. Visitation Thursday will be held at the church one hour prior to the service.
