Funeral services were held August 8 at Decatur United Methodist Church for Ted Smith, 28.  He died August 3, 1986.

Ted Steward Smith was born Mary 30, 1958, at Oakland to James and Phyllis Smith.  He attended school at the Busse School and graduated from Decatur High School in 1976.  Most of his life was spent in the Decatur area.

He worked in the oil fields in Texas for a short time before moving back to Decatur.  He was working at Iowa Beef at the time of his death.

Smith married Linda Kuhlman September 19, 1983.

He was a member of the Decatur United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife; his parents; four brothers: Dale and his wife, Bonnie, of Blair; Calvin and his wife, Susan; Keith and his wife, Peggy; and Roger, all of Decatur; six nieces and nephews.

Burial was at Decatur Cemetery.
