Ted Weaver
Information taken from the May 30,1999 Decatur Alumni Banquet Booklet Spouse: Rita Sparks Weaver Married May 9, 1952 Children: Kathie, Shiela, Sandra and Todd Grandchildren: Bria, Thomas, William, Michael, and Kayne I went to the Army in January 1952 and was home on furlough in May and married Rita Sparks from Macy. I went over seas until December of 1953. We've been in South Sioux City except for a short time that we lived in Dakota City. I worked at Wilson Concrete for 21 years and then worked at Sioux Tools for a year. I was on Volunteer Fire Department for 10 years but gave that up when I rotated shifts for 13 years at AGP (Soybean plant). I had a knee replacement and retired in 1991 but decided retirement wasn't for me with Rita's 8 or 10 daycare children. I've been delivering flowers for South Sioux City's Hy-Vee for 3 1/2 years. It's a part-time job (usually 40-50 hours a week). It's a fun job--everyone likes to get flowers!
