Terry Lee Metzler

February 20, 1952 - May 21, 2024

    Terry Lee Metzler was born February 20, 1952, in Blair, Nebraska, to George Darold and Patricia (Allison) Metzler. He passed away on May 21, 2024, at CHI Health Immanuel Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska, at the age of 72 years.

    Terry attended elementary school at 6R School. He graduated from Decatur High School in Decatur, Nebraska, in 1970. Terry and Peggy were united in marriage on November 19, 1971. Terry was drafted into the Army and was stationed in Tacoma, Washington, in 1972. He was honorably discharged in 1974. To this union were born two children, Travis and Stephani.

    Terry and his family moved back to Nebraska after being discharged from the Army, where he began his life as a farmer. Although he loved farming, his passion was his family. As if farming was not enough, he began working for the Burt County Road Department (to play in some more dirt) in January 2010 up until the day he passed.

    He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Metzler; parents, Darold and Pat Metzler; father- and mother-in-law, Dewey and Nona Shawver; and brother-in-law, Duke Shawver.

   He is survived by his son, Travis (Brenda) Metzler of Farnam, NE; daughter, Stephani (Matt) Stout of Omaha; grandchildren: Amber (Dillon) McMichael; Brittni Schultz; Dylan (Isabela) Schultz; Mikinzie Schultz; Broedy (Fiancée, Leigh Anne) Metzler, Justin (fiancée Morgan) Stout Tontitown; great-grandchildren: Ryker, Grayson and Nathan McMichael and Meadow and Dylan Schultz, Jr.; sisters, Pam (Jim) Beck and Becky (Scott) Luebbe; sisters-in-law, Debbie (Rick) Augenstein, Bonnie (Dale) Pueppke and Patsy Bowser; several nieces and nephews; countless special friends, including Sara Moser and Ashley and Megan Moser.
