December 7, 1951 - September 4, 1988

The funeral for Tony D. Sears, 36, of Decatur, was held September 8 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Decatur.  He died September 4, 1988, in Omaha.

He was born December 7, 1951, at Blair to Max H. and Rachel (Miller) Sears.  He worked in a gas station in Oakland for two years prior to operating his own station in Lyons for a short time.  He served in the U.S. Army from 1971-1974 and was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church at Decatur.

He was preceded in death by his father, Max H. Sears.

Survivors include his mother, Rachel Sears, of Decatur; two sisters, Trudi  Bohlken of Lincoln and Sally Santos of San Jose, CA; and two brothers, Rex Sears of Decatur and Danny Sears of Blair.

The Rev. Brion P. Tolzman officiated.  Peggy Haeffner was the organist. 

Casket bearers were Robert Case, Ivan Connealy, Mike Conklin, Lyle L. Farrens, Sean Connealy and Jim Phillips.

Honorary pallbearers were Lonnie Sears and Jack Huffman.

Burial was at Yellow Smoke Cemetery North of Decatur.
